In this series of blog posts we explain how to use Opencart to boost your Google SEO rankings and get more traffic..
This post explains how to add an Opencart SEO feed to Google Search Console.
The Opencart SEO feed creates a web page on your site which lists all of your pages and content, and when each page was created/updated.
This helps Google to quickly understand what new pages you have loaded or content you have changed, and so it can can index these faster in its search engine.
Google has a tool called Google Search console (here: https://search.google.com/search-console) where you can open an account and send Google the link to your feed page.
Instructions to create and load your feed:
1 Goto your Opencart admin, and click on Extensions -> Extensions (as below)

2. Select 'Feeds' from the list and click 'filter'

3. Select 'Enabled' , copy the 'data feed url' to notepad and save
4. type the 'data feed url' into your browser to view the page and check it works. It should display something similar to this.

5. Goto your Google Search Console Screen and on the left hand menu click on 'sitemaps' .

6. Enter your sitemap URL and submit it.

If your website is too large (typically 10k+ products) then the SEO map may be too big for a single page and either fail to load, or Google may reject it. In this case we can help to simplify the map by spreading it across multiple linked site maps. Please contact us to ask.
